Luděk Golat Singing Competition

About the Competition

The Luděk Golat Singing Competition is a prestigious international event that offers young opera singers a unique opportunity to launch their careers on some of the world’s most important opera stages.

An international jury will select, in Step 1, a group of finalists who will be rewarded with a six-day intensive workshop in the Czech Republic with leading opera professionals. Finalists will also receive a professional portfolio (photos, video aria, video interview) and free access to the Let’s Sing application with many exclusive benefits. In Step 2, the jury will choose three winners, each of whom will receive €1,000 in prize money.

Opera Co-Pro Ltd is thrilled to announce an exclusive opportunity for opera singers to participate in two prestigious Masterclasses and Concert Events in Berlin and Munich. Hosted by renowned vocal coach Massimo Iannone and Opera Manager Ambra Sorrentino, this event promises to be an enriching experience for aspiring opera performers.

Programme Berlin:

h.11-13 and 14-18.30: Individual Vocal Sessions and Artist Promotion Masterclass: Repertoire choice and How to find your agent.

h.19.00-20.00: Final recital of the Masterclass participants.

Professors: Massimo Iannone, Ambra Sorrentino

Massimo Iannone is an internationally renowned vocal coach. He held masterclasses over the past 10 years in European cities (London, Paris, Berlin, Monaco, Barcelona), the United States, Mexico, Singapore, Japan, and China, where he was appointed an honorary professor at Handan University. He has received the following awards: “Caruso” in 2022, “A Lifetime for Music” in 2023, and “Thomas Shippers” in 2024. Vocal coach for the Puccini Festival Academy from 2020 to 2023, he recently completed a tour in Australia, where he held masterclasses, lessons, and podcasts. In the coming months, he will conduct masterclasses in India and Europe.

Ambra Sorrentino, CEO Opera Co-Pro Ltd. Passionate, forward-thinking and creative, Ambra Sorrentino is an Italian entrepreneur with more than ten years’ experience working for top EU opera companies and music organizations. She has been awarded BEST CEO for UK in 2020 as CEO and Founder of Opera Co-Pro, the first global marketplace for opera producers to trade recent shows and launch co-production projects. COSTS:

-Participation to 1 Masterclass in Berlin OR Munich + Final Recital: 300 Euro

-Participation to 2 Masterclass in Berlin & Munich + Final Recital: 500 Euro

-Auditor: 60 Euro

5 Scholarships of 200 Euro are available to partially cover the Masterclass costs. These will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, after a selection process by the masterclass teachers. 

Students regularly enrolled in Conservatoire, Hochschule, Music Academies receive a discount of 15% on any registration cost.

This event presents a unique opportunity to enhance your vocal skills, network with industry professionals, and showcase your talent on stage. Space is limited, so we encourage early registration to secure your spot.

London Workshop by Opera Co-Pro

In collaboration with Teatro Grattacielo New York, Camerata dei Bardi Vocal Academy New York and the Italian Cultural Institute of London.

On the occasion of the company’s 5th Anniversary celebrations, Opera Co-Pro is selecting 2 casts and 1 cover cast for all roles of Mozart’s Don Giovanni for a unique opera workshop in London. All participants to the workshop, both casts and covers, will actively take part to the workshop and receive music and stage rehearsals as well as attend auditions and Marketing Masterclass.

The workshop is taking place in London from 3rd to 5th May 2022 with the final performance on 5th May at the Italian Cultural Institute in London, 39 Belgrave Square.

Auditions for opera companies and agencies, Members or Consultants of Opera Co-Pro are taking place on 5th May from 10 am to 2 pm at the Italian Cultural Institute of London, 39 Belgrave Square.

Representatives of the Opera industry worldwide will attend the final showcase and the auditions both in person and online. An updated list will be regularly published on the Opera Co-Pro channels. Teatro Grattacielo will consider the Workshop participants for engagements in the European tours 2022\23 in Greece and Italy.

How to participate

In person: send your APPLICATION  by the 20th February. All applications are FREE.

Two full scholarships with travel and accommodation included are available for Camerata dei Bardi Students 2022.

Two scholarships that cover 50% of the workshop cost are available to particularly gifted applicants from London Academies and Conservatoires.

The scholarships recipients will be announced in the end of February 2022.

Selection requirements

2 audio or video links of an opera aria, preferably by Mozart or sung in Italian language.

Selection steps:

20th February: Applications deadline

28th February: Announcement of the selected applicants.

The selection will happen on a first come first served basis, so early registration is warmly recommended. In case of exceptionally talented artists, the invitation to join the Workshop can be sent even before the deadline.
